Covid 19
In you are in New Zealand you should go to covid19.govt.nz for the lastest information. We need to work together as a community to avoid the spread of this virus. There are many aspects of technology that are connected to Covid19 which are interesting.
Data Visualisation
My favourite visualisations are:
- Covid Trends a log graph of total cases vs new cases.
- Worldometers Good table for raw numbers - also shows a nice log graph
- ERS - Covid Dashboard New Zealand Made by a former student working at EPI Interactive
- Johns Hopkins University The basis for most international numbers.
Contact Tracing
One of the major aspects of managing an epidemic is to trace who you could have spread a virus too. NZ is currently looking a releasing an app the will use bluetooth to contact trace. It is also possible to store/share you location history so that when asked you can look back over the previous 2 weeks and say where you went and what you did.

- Google Maps - timeline If you want to track your travel the easiest is to turn on google maps location services and use the timeline feature.
