Renewing a Grid Certificate 001

This is a walk through of how I renewed a Certificate. The wording and flow presented assumes that the user has interacted with a Grid that is under control of ARCS before and so the common dialogs for accepting certificates and getting through proxies have been ommited.

Part I: Requesting a Rewenal

If you dont have a copy to hand, you'll need to download the JNLP file from

http://ngportal.canterbury.ac.nz/grid/grix-jdk5-bestgrid.jnlp

and then, from the command line, run

javaws grix-jdk5-bestgrid.jnlp

You will now running the Grix application and, as you have done so before, you should see the following form ...

Alt Text

and, having selected to renew, your details will be presented again, albeit with the requirement to enter a passphrase

Alt Text

after having entered one and selected "Request" you should see and OK the following two dialogs

Alt Text

Alt Text

before finally being to informed that

Alt Text

Having viewed your details, or simply cliked the OK button without doing so, you will finally be informed.

Alt Text

and you should now go and see your chosen RAO.

Part II: Interacting with your RAO

Your RAO should not need to verify your photo ID for a renewal

Once you have recieved notification that a certificate has been issued to you, you can then re-enter the JNLP application to retrieve the certificate as before.
